چکیده

The availability of cheap and high nutritional value artificial feed is a prerequisite for the sustainability lobster cultivation. In this study, formula was made based on chicken egg hatching waste maggot flour. purpose study to determine performance scalloped spiny lobsters with treatment P1 (70% fish meal + 0% waste), P2 (50% fishmeal 20% P3 (30% 40% P4 (10% 60% hatchery waste). This used seedlings size 1.5 - 3.5 cm which were kept 60 days. Lobster measured body weight, length, growth rate, conversion, molting dilution rate. data analyzed descriptively by presenting mean, standard deviation, statistical analysis using Duncan's advanced test. results absolute length weight in obtained 1.22±0.05 1.03±0.21; 1.31±0.16 1.16±0.09; 1.37±0.37 1.47±0.13; 0.82±0.18 0.9±0.22. calculation specific rate 0.56±0.09, 0.69±0.21, 0.73±0.16, 0.56±0.24. ratio conversion shows tendency decrease as concentration increases. fed waste-based quite good up if more than that will reduce lobsters.

Evolutionary Divergence of Geographic Subspecies within the Scalloped Spiny Lobster Panulirus homarus (Linnaeus 1758)

Panulirus homarus is an economically important spiny lobster that is widespread through the Indo-West Pacific Region, but has an uncertain taxonomic status, with three or four geographic subspecies having been described. This study used mitochondrial (16S, COI and control region) and nuclear (18S, ITS-1) DNA sequences to examine specimens of all putative subspecies and forms from throughout the...

Novel genomic microsatellite markers for genetic population and diversity studies of tropical scalloped spiny lobster (Panulirus homarus) and their potential application in related Panulirus species.

Fourteen polymorphic microsatellites with perfect di-, tri-, and tetra-nucleotide repeats were identified for Panulirus homarus using Roche 454 whole-genome sequencing method. Microsatellites were efficiently co-amplified in four multiplexes and a singleplex, providing consistent and easily interpretable genotypes. The number of alleles per locus ranged from 2 to 11 with the observed and expect...

Histology and ultrastructure of male reproductive system of the Indian Spiny lobster Panulirus homarus (Decapoda: Palinuridae).

The spiny lobster Panulirus homarus, distributed along the Southeast and Southwest coasts of India, is an important commercial species having mariculture potential. Despite its importance, the structural and ultrastructure features of male gonads from this species have received scarce attention. Hence this study was aimed to describe the male reproductive tract of the species, using standard hi...

effect of copper on the characterization of proteins in the spiny lobster, panulirus homarus homarus (linnaeus,1758)

copper is most toxic metal in marine organisms. characterization of protein occurring in the metabolically active tissues of muscle (mu), hepatopancreas (hp) and gills (gl) of the spiny lobster, panulirus homarus homarus on exposure to two sub-lethal doses (9.55 and 19.1 µg/l) of copper were studied for 28 days of exposure (doe). the electrophoretic pattern of muscle, hepatopancreas and gill pr...

A molecular phylogeny of the spiny lobster Panulirus homarus highlights a separately evolving lineage from the Southwest Indian Ocean

Accurate species description in the marine environment is critical for estimating biodiversity and identifying genetically distinct stocks. Analysis of molecular data can potentially improve species delimitations because they are easily generated and independent, and yield consistent results with high statistical power. We used classical phylogenetic (maximum likelihood and Bayesian inference) ...
